@zlone low volume and 70dB is funny. Anyway, yes they can swing from low SPL averages cos they have lots of instantaneous compressions rejection capability, are moderately voltage sensitive with a rating of 88.8dB 22.83V/1m but may need reserve current as they have a minimum impedance dip to 3.3 ohms at 170Hz. Outside of that dip, it is a benign 4 ohm and above load for your amp. So a competently made solid state amp stable down to 4 ohms is all you need
They won't be my first choice cos I am a controlled dispersion pattern freak but a moderately furnished room to tamp down some reflections will be all you need.
As for overwhelming your space, maybe in terms of visual size but sonically they should work in your compact space regardless
