Atalante 5's

I am still in the hunt for a new set of speakers, previously considering Vandersteen Treo's (https://forum.audiogon.com/discussions/considering-vandersteen-treo), but sort of going cold on those for a few reasons. Talking to a very knowledgeable dealer today about my issues with my current QLN 3's, he strongly recommended I take a look at the Revival line, and specifically the 5's.

Yes, much has already been said about the Atalante's on this site, but let's freshen it up. I have a few big questions:

- I am a low volume listener, 65-70dB, mostly jazz these days. How do these do at low volumes?

- Topmost is, will these overload my 12.5 x 11' room, conspicuously undersized based on Revival's recommendations.

People seem to love the sound, I would be interested to hear from some jazz listeners and low(er) volume listeners to get their impressions.

Thanks.

@zlone low volume and 70dB is funny. Anyway, yes they can swing from low SPL averages cos they have lots of instantaneous compressions rejection capability, are moderately voltage sensitive with a rating of 88.8dB 22.83V/1m but may need reserve current as they have a minimum impedance dip to 3.3 ohms at 170Hz. Outside of that dip, it is a benign 4 ohm and above load for your amp. So a competently made solid state amp stable down to 4 ohms is all you need

They won't be my first choice cos I am a controlled dispersion pattern freak but a moderately furnished room to tamp down some reflections will be all you need.

As for overwhelming your space, maybe in terms of visual size but sonically they should work in your compact space regardless

I am also curious about the Studio Electric M5, they seem to be along the same lines, though they are acoustic suspension not ported.
