No wonder nothing sells: wire transfer only

I buy from dealers. The thought of wiring off a huge bunch of money just seems like crazy to me. I know folks that do it. I have gotten burned in much more direct circumstances. I don't mind paying a premium for certainty if it is more than I can laugh at loosing. 

As soon as I see F&F for payment, that's a hard pass.

Buyers demand risk-free purchase protection , but so do Sellers. = Mexican stand-off in terms of logistics, PayPal can be a bonus or a FUHBAR . 

This is a fantasy to please both sides simultaneously in an unregulated informal bulletin board ad forum ..especially where forum fans hide behind a central plank of anonymity . Whiners, complainers, crazys, and Bottom-feeders …AND conversely  5-star members ,,,, arise, exist, and feed  on both sides,

- I buy from Dealers and buy & sell with Private Sellers on CAM, always paid by direct prepaid EFT or credit card . That included $15K electronics,

- Dealer reputation and Seller with high # positive feedback matters on forum ads , but there is always a theoretical potential for issues.

- my take ,,,, An imperfect system works well enough under an understanding that the following prevails and ain’t gonna ever change   …..  “ ,In God we trust. Everyone else pays cash,”

I've never gotten burned, but I also don't do F&F. It does not, as others have pointed out, protect the buyer and seller. I insist on the "normal" Paypal method, and either the buyer pays Paypal or we split the costs.

Wiring?!? To a stranger?  I think not.

One can use a third party escrow service if the seller is willing to accept that. Inspection before shipping. The risk of shipping is another matter.

Years ago, I had a very special Ferrari delivered to my house once it arrived stateside from Modena. I knew the dealer well. Car arrives, my friend who worked at the dealership and oversaw the delivery (and had his sports bike mounted for the return-- a couple hours in distance from NY to Philly) called shortly after delivery. And said "I forget to take the check." I said "what check?"

Of course I paid them. Stuff happens, though.
