Thiel Owners

Guys-

I just scored a sweet pair of CS 2.4SE loudspeakers. Anyone else currently or previously owned this model?
Owners of the CS 2.4 or CS 2.7 are free to chime in as well. Thiel are excellent w/ both tubed or solid-state gear!

Thank you again for all the detailed information and as usual its not as simple as my little mind would think it is. The Vandersteen 3A Sig's had an issue with vertical Bi-amping in that if the amp wasn't designed well enough the midrange driver would drive the amp into oscillation and burn the driver out or at least that's the way it was explained to be.

I think I'll just stick with mono-blocks they have not done me wrong yet.

Have a good weekend and stay warm.

Monoblocks provide the power and channel separation, but at the expense of half the output impedance, which exacerbates the problems of low-impedance speakers like Thiels. The ideal answer is higher impedance speakers.

Has anybody tried autoformers such as those made by AntiCables?

Most McIntosh amps including solid state have autoformers, some with 2-ohm taps.

The effect of output transformers on the sound quality of SS amps has been debated.

Perusing over your Virtual Systems page, are you still enjoying Stealth Audio & Shunyata cables and cords?  I am excited to read and see you really dial-in those CS 2.4SE loudspeakers!
