To All Cable Deniers, 1 Very Simple Question.

I'm not trying to convince anyone, one way or the other; but I do believe in cable and connector improvement......to a point. Either way, it is easy (and cheap enough) to find out for oneself.

Buy a nice 5' piece of high quality power cable, VHAudio carries excellent bulk cable from Furutech, Neotech, Oyaide....at competitive prices. DHLabs also has nice bulk cable.

Buy connectors with different plating (Silver, Rhodium, Copper, Gold), from someone like SonarQuest; who make excellent power plugs with all 4 platings. Make a cable, interchange the plugs, see if it makes a difference in your mind or not. I did, and there are definitely differences.....some I liked, and some I did not. For example, I much prefer Silver plating over Rhodium for a more detailed presentation.

@mashif The fact that one cannot hear differences between cables is not evidence that there is no difference. It's evidence that a given individual cannot hear the difference. 

I tend to agree, and already see it in myself over the course of the past two years.  Sure, I still like to think I can hear differences, at least with interconnects and speaker cable changes, yet I notice I'm not as good at hearing notable differences compared to 5-10 years ago.  The good news is, I have no new desire to change cables any more just to try them, and this is a benefit too, and so there we go.  

Wait as a surgeon I use ai every time. My brain after every night on call during residency has because a computer with high grade database. No computer has lasted 49 plus years with a high bod rate and this much storage. I have to laugh when doctors have to use ai to improve thier performance. We had a real cadaver a whole room full not a computer and 3d goggles. Happy listening.

@audphile1 To the people that say I’m attention seeking or people that don’t understand the purpose of this thread and the simple question being presented, here is my response.

Again, the question I posed is very simple but also somewhat deep. People that claim all cables sound the same would imply the % of copper content is irrelevant. In the initial post, I asked does 60% sound identical to 98% copper?

0% copper vs 98% copper? 

Gold vs copper? 

So why do I say this question is somewhat deep? Because each cable has 2 ends (2 plugs). Whatever difference there is, you have to multiply it by 2. Because 2 ends.

However, a system doesn’t have 1 power cable. Usually it has 3 power cables, 6 ends. So?

So.... 30% copper x 6

VERSUS

98% copper x 6

I read through the thread but no denier really answered the question, does the difference in copper content still make 2 different cables sound identical?

One thing worth mentioning is, a plug is essentially an extension of the wire, so that you could plug into the outlet. It is still a wire in a different form, a necessary form. 

I kindly request that people start answering the very basic but fundamental question. 

Does copper % matter in sound quality or does it not?

If not, then we might as well switch to a cheaper metal. A system running all ALUMINUM wires sound enticing.
