To All Cable Deniers, 1 Very Simple Question.

Unfortunately I can not do blindfold tests. It’s just me testing out cables and power cords alone.

So when it’s wrong wrong wrong RIGHT...what does that mean?

I tried out an expensive power cord on various components. It sounded noticeably better on one component. Why did I feel that one component with this power cord changed the sound of my system when using it with the others made no difference to me. Was I imagining this?

I’m testing out now HDMI interconnects from budget to expensive. I hear differences that I like on more expensive interconnects. But sometimes I hear so little difference it's not worth the more money. What to do. Is my mind/hearing fooling me?

@mylogic why not use AI to augment your research on whatever it is you’re curious about at the moment? Just need to be able to properly digest the information. Nothing wrong with that. Just don’t let the AI do the thinking for you.

That’s a valid assessment. AI can lead you in a certain direction, maybe suggest. The times l have bothered to read AI generated reports, l only ever take the information as a generalised simplified overview…. nothing more.

Yep I like to use all resources available to me. Besides it’s cool to see how AI evolves. 

I'm not trying to convince anyone, one way or the other; but I do believe in cable and connector improvement......to a point. Either way, it is easy (and cheap enough) to find out for oneself.

Buy a nice 5' piece of high quality power cable, VHAudio carries excellent bulk cable from Furutech, Neotech, Oyaide....at competitive prices. DHLabs also has nice bulk cable.

Buy connectors with different plating (Silver, Rhodium, Copper, Gold), from someone like SonarQuest; who make excellent power plugs with all 4 platings. Make a cable, interchange the plugs, see if it makes a difference in your mind or not. I did, and there are definitely differences.....some I liked, and some I did not. For example, I much prefer Silver plating over Rhodium for a more detailed presentation.
