What is your experience with Magico A3 or A5 speakers and the company as a whole?

Just auditioned a pair of Magico A3 and A5 speakers to replace my 20 year old B&W 802D (1st gen diamond).

Does anyone have any experience with either of these speakers since they are not cheap.

Also, not familiar with Magico as a company. Are they reputable, how is their customer service if you have an issue, etc. My electronics are PSaudio, and their customer service is 2nd to none.

Also, how safe is it to have a Beryllium tweeted in my home. I heard that if it breaks it is very dangerous to inhale any dust particles. For instance, Focal Sopra 3 put a metal cage around their Beryllium tweeter to keep probing fingers away from it. But the Magico speaker, it is unprotected. Heck, even the speaker does not come with a dust cover.

Please, any thoughts......and suggestions

You are talking $30k for speakers. Are you sure you don't want to audition a few others ? In any case, your electronics may no be good enough, so I think you should be prepared to replace it as well. And possibly all the cables and cords. Someone suggested Sonus Faber for musicality, I would add Kharma for..well, for great sound. Is your main source digital or analogue ? One can't cheat analogue.

Have to agree with the harsh comments about Magico.  But I thought the Sonus Faber's were a bit dull sounding, probably the blue lights I demo'd them with. :)  Bought YG Hailey 2.2's and loved them until I thought they were a bit much on the ears with my SS components.  Now I have Vivid Giya 2's and wonderful.  Smoooth and revealing and tons of bass.  Recommend a listen!  While a tube pre might be a good pairing with Magico's. seems a bit horse backwards to go about it that way.  Take your time until you are smitten with something (besides Magico's) :)
