A bit over your budget, but how about something like the KLH Model 7? The Model 5's are well under your budget, as well.
Bookshelf speaker rec
Hi everyone.
I am in the market for a pair of speakers, bookshelf, that have a good amount of low end. Will be using them with a Naim CD player > Conrad Johnson pre > B&K power amp.
Music is everything from Metallica and AC/DC to Beethoven and John Williams.
Room is 22x19 with a vaulted ceiling that goes from 9ft to 13 ft. I will have some carpet, and plan on putting up some acoustic panels, to, at the very least, cut down on the ambiance/reflections.
Wanted to get some suggs on what to listen to when I go to my local store(s). I would like to keep the pair under $5k if possible.

riffwraith OP"New. Don’t really want to do used." What if used, near you, that you could examine, listen to, and pickup without the risk and cost of shipping? Where do you live? Anyone live near these in Oklahoma?
