What is the advantage in having more than one turntable?
At the moment, that is where I am at, more by accident than design. My first turntable is a Garrard 301 with a Moving Magnet cartridge (Shure or Audio Technica), while my new turntable is a Holbo air bearing system which is awaiting delivery of a DS Audio optical cartridge. My hot-off-the-press SoulNote Phono Equalizer can switch between the two at the press of a front-panel button.
The running cost of the two turntables is vastly different when you take into account the cost of replacing a MM stylus versus the cost of retipping the optical cartridge.
Never thought of that angle before!
