What is your experience with Magico A3 or A5 speakers and the company as a whole?

Just auditioned a pair of Magico A3 and A5 speakers to replace my 20 year old B&W 802D (1st gen diamond).

Does anyone have any experience with either of these speakers since they are not cheap.

Also, not familiar with Magico as a company. Are they reputable, how is their customer service if you have an issue, etc. My electronics are PSaudio, and their customer service is 2nd to none.

Also, how safe is it to have a Beryllium tweeted in my home. I heard that if it breaks it is very dangerous to inhale any dust particles. For instance, Focal Sopra 3 put a metal cage around their Beryllium tweeter to keep probing fingers away from it. But the Magico speaker, it is unprotected. Heck, even the speaker does not come with a dust cover.

Please, any thoughts......and suggestions

Magico is formulaic and safe for a not so nitpicky guy...They sound a bit unnatural, but, better than Wilson and some others.

Audition the PS Audio Aspen series of speakers as well and the b&w 801 d4 before you make a decision...

Imo/Ime, some PS audio electronics are not that great for the money, but, their speakers are good, sound better than lots of high end letdowns.

The 801 d4 is also quite nice if you can get some deal on it.

Purchased A3's with the mpod footers used and barely broken in.

The spikes on the pods weren't long enough to go thru carpet and pad to the underlying wood floor. Reached out to Magico and they sent me longer spikes for free, so my experience was customer service is righteous.

PS - very very happy with the speakers (5 years on), tube preamp in the chain helps.

My only experience listening to Magico is with the S5 Mk2 being driven by Convergent amp/preamp.  The whole system sounded exceptional. I've heard they're difficult to drive, but the CAT amps drive them with musical ease.
