Roon Trial

Hello friends -

I am fortunate to have a two month Roon trial subscription.  I have Whafdale Super Linton speakers, a Cambridge EXA100 amp, Cambridge DacMagic 200, Eversolo T8, and my Roon server is set up via internet on an unused MAC computer.

What could you recommend I change - assume $1,000- $,5,000 if I had to spend money - and if $2K really, really moved the needle please let me know.

@mapman thanks - and I am just starting to wrap my head around the set up.  
 

@audphile1 - I have a Laiv uDac which is arriving later this week.  I’m curious to hear the changes it may bring.

My biggest SQ bump was moving the ROON core off a MAC computer to a dedicated server.  I went with and SGC ST, got some decent ethernet cabling and switched over to a Mesh network with a mesh node hardwire to server and endpoint.

I’ve found you definitely want a good DAC.  Also that running a Roon windows endpoint and using dedicated Windows WASAPI over usb2  to DAC is very cost effective and works extremely well.

@jbuhl - appreciate the comment. That is likely the next move.  It’s a very old Mac, but I think a nucleus is likely in the cards for me. It may be slightly more straightforward- and at this stage I am all about trying to make my life easier. (But then I did get into this hobby, so what was I thinking?)
