How often do you check tracking force?

Absolutely, with the VPI unipovot 

Once every few years my dealer checks it. I don't think he has ever needed to adjust it in between cartridge changes.  So basically, never.

What do I look for under a microscope. I'm back into vinyl and its about this for me to check mine out? Should I have taken a pic when it was new?

I think the answer might also depend on how often to you use your table.i have been using mine heavily for close to 2 months. 

With my Nottingham Spacedeck/Spacearm - I never check anything, do it once with the cartridge and let it be. Anti-skate is easy to set by ear, you don't have to have outstanding hearing to do it, just a reasonably good one. Takes half an hour or less with a few different and very familiar records.
