Humminguru Nova

If you want to understand how dirty new vinyl is buy a black light. But in short yes US cleaning is imo a significant step up

I have a HumminGuru Nova and like it.  It works quite well on new or near new records and the difference in the sound is sort of like the lifting of a veil or a light haze. I also have two VPI cleaning machines (one in each of two homes) and these are far - FAR - more effective for old or very dirty records.  On old records where a first clean with the VPI discloses that the record is actually in VG+ or better condition a second cleaning with the HumminGuru has also resulted in further improvement.  Recently, like a week or two ago, HumminGuru introduced a vinyl washing machine that looks quite good and might be a option for those who don't want to spend the money for a VPI or similar.

I think for the old, dirty records I can do a wash cycle using my Knosti system with Tergikleen, then as a final step have the Nova blast the remaining dirt out of the grooves. 

On the wet side I advise an enzyme solution… then another with your agents of choice. See @whart  excellent publication The Vinyl Press

The Nova will take away lot of the manual work while delivering a truly deep clean records. I used the Pro-Ject VC-S2 for a few years and thought it was good enough, but after using Degritter MKII, I realized ultrasonic cleaning is on a completely different level.

If you plan to stick around in the vinyl world, the Nova is a worthwhile investment. Once you experience what it does, it’s hard to imagine going back to something like Knosti or anything else.
