Morose? Maybe, but all of them were rode hard and put away wet many many times! Jerry Garcia refused to take care of himself and was a ticking time bomb. At least the others were just products of the times. Bobby Wasn’t innocence, but he quit most of the hard stuff years and years ago and 78 pretty good run considering the lifestyle.

If anyone is interested Deadhead Archives is a free app that has every show. Most of the time 3 or 4 recordings from audience to boards! Check it out. I really like Stuartk's description of Bob's rhythm playing. He had a hard job contributing and staying out of the way! i would marvel sometimes at how he played all that and remember the lyrics! The Dead usually had about one hundred songs at any one time they could play. Just think Bob could sing songs like Desolation Row, The Other One, Visions of Johanna and hardly ever forget the words. Someone mentioned Keith and Donna. I read a story once that Jerry could be pissed and happy with Kieth all in the same show. He would repeat Jerry's phrases and other times he would play something incredible. Never saw Keith and Donna but, I really enjoyed Brent. Very tasteful and very creative with his keyboards. He had a great voice as well. I got 35 shows and one Garcia Band and one Garcia and Kahn. It was a great ride! My friend that got me into them got about 350 shows! I listen to Deadhead Archives a lot! Bobby is with me a lot. He is truly missed. One More Saturday Night. |

@ezwind I’d know that guitar playing anywhere. Also, nice to see photos of Jerry playing his starburst Stratocaster. Thanks for the link! |
