Dealing with Static on LP palyback

Anyone have any suggestions on how to deal with static build up on LPs as I play them?   Just playing one side is something enough to cause an arc when I pick up the album.  Most of the time I hear tiny, consistent crackles that sound just like static.

All the things I tried that claim to reduce static does not.  I must have four record mats and a camel hair tone arm brush, all of which claim to reduce static but have no effect that I can see.

Static - challenges some more than others. Sometimes taking out of sleeves increase static. 

Milty Zerostat or Furutech Destat anti-static guns are applied just before playing, but I prefer a more continuous solutions from DS Audio ION-001 or CS Port Static Eliminator IME1.

Gruv Glide totally eliminates static. Some people are against putting coatings on records, which I an understand, but I will say that Music Direct and Acoustic Sounds have sold it for years and I am not aware of any instances of it harming records. I won’t say it improves or hurts the sound, but it will definitely stop static dead. Just use as directed on a clean record and I don’t think you will have any problems.

I have been using Gruv Glide for a a few years and it has pretty much eliminated any static issue that I used to have. One application last for many spins. I have not had to apply a second application to any of my LP's so far.

​​​​​​​I believe it also helps reduce wear on the stylus.
