Chair

I’ve been thoroughly bitten by the couch. My listening chair that is.
I’m forced to cut my listening sessions short due to lower back pain (chronic, result of an old injury). Looking to get something that would be comfortable enough to not aggravate the nerve in my tukhes and align properly with my speakers in a sweet spot.
Eames replica in leather? Ikea Poang? Anything else? What do you use?

@audphile1  I sent you a PM.  Naturally the link got deleted.  I'll try here.  I made a reference to Start with #3 and finish with # 6.  They are on this site.

I explained the second stretch, and now I'm going to put myself out there.  The things we do for fellow Agoners. 🤣

Position 1

Position 2

What the heck, here's the last stretch

Hope this helps.  I know for a fact they don't help if you don't do them every day.  Cheers,

Thanks @bigtwin !!! You’re slim and flexible. I’m neither. Lol

I will do my best. If you don’t see me posting for a few days that means i’m stuck in position #3…aka last stretch…for me it will be a final one…

Just found this thread and found it quite interesting. I made the mistake of killing some time with my wife at a local furniture store over the holidays. We tried the Stressless Paul recliner and were immediately sold on its comfort. Made an impulse purchase and it is currently on order for use as my new listening chair.

I never even considered the height of the headrest as affecting sound quality. Now I am wondering if this will be a problem. Looking at the Eames, Ekornes and some others mentioned here, they seem to have an ear level headrest. Looks like my current chair's headrest is also ear level so I may not eve notice a change.

Would putting some fabric/felt on the headrest help? Is the main problem the reflection from the leather or blocking of sound coming from behind the chair?

@sfpeloton - it has been reported that higher headrest can interfere with the sound, but it’s importance is subjective depending on comfort, budget, and sonic goals. My audio chain strives for low SS noise floor with better electronics so Sonics a high priority with comfort.  Others may not care as much.  Since you’re already committed to the Stressless, I’d simply try throwing a jacket, towel, etc over the headrest to see if you like the sonic changes.

@bigtwin - awesome pics.  I’ve back degeneration which I mitigate with weekly traction- 10 minutes pulling back to the right. Otherwise I’d get back spasms or surgery only option.  Need to add core planks to help support lower back to reduce ache.  Thanks for your inspiring pics.

Leaning towards Eames or Eames copy since it’s below ears but offers some neck support.  Since used Eames seems 2k+, I’m also looking at this as a possible investment aka if new 4.5k, then I’m spending 2.5k and investing in the 2k.  We’ll see at the monthend Herman Miller sale. We just moved, and my wife showed me the previous owners may also had a GM lounges- aka my wife may be open to my spending. Happy wife, happy life - also self preservation a powerful motivator

@kennyc  I just got the latest model I-Phone with all the bells and whistles for my wife.  All in all, I think it was a pretty good trade.  🤣
