Mogami Neglex W2549

Anyone use the Mogami Neglex W2549 as either a balanced or unbalanced interconnect in their system? Curious to hear your opinions

@chuckaronson - It will be interesting to hear if you ever try the GAC-4/1 Ultra Pro.

Your comment raises a point . . . it is often said that using balanced connections reduces the perceived differences among cables. I have been using balanced interconnections for so long, I sometimes forget I may be in an audiophile minority. I wonder if those who found strong differences among cables would mind noting whether they are in balanced or single-ended circuits?

If you think 2549 sounds slightly soft, try 2964. The latter makes a great phono cable, too.

This has been an interesting thread to read through. All I can talk about are my observations employed in my system (detailed in my profile) I am finding the Mogami quite excellent. XLR runs use Neutrik connectors and RCA runs use DH Labs connectors.

I did cable comparisons today between my Pass Labs XP 20 and ifi iCan Pro Signature headphone amp. I use the same Neutrik XLR connectors on all cables. The Gotham Gac 4/1 Ultra Pro sounded dull compared to the Belden 8402. The Belden sounds more open but with slight warmth in the midrange. Vocals are just so beautiful. The 8402 has rich harmonics, dimensionality, full bass and sweet treble. So yes, the 8402 is somewhat colored but sounds so good.
A less colored cable that I use is the Mogami 2549. It is very linear top to bottom. The Canare L-4e6s is similar to the 2549 but perhaps slightly leaner sounding.
System matching and user preferences will factor in.
