Hegel Viking sound

I just purchased a Hegel Viking CD player. I am breaking it in and at about 100 hours. It is vocal forward and the trebel is not bright but to close for my comfort. Looking for ideas to tame it.

I’ve tried both Hegel H390 with onboard AKM based DAC and Hegel’s D50 sabre-based D50 DAC and while the presentations did noticeably differ, I found neither to be forward or tipped up.

In your case a picture won’t help. but in case of OP it might help understand the potential root cause.

If I’m not mistaken there is silver in these cables. So that’s potentially one of the reasons.
