Boron vs aluminum for cantilever on DL301 Mk2 retip?

I have had cartridges serviced by VAS and Soundsmith and, in both cases, they recommended leaving the boron cantilever and retipping only. This may have been due to the boron cantilever, but my point is to go with the retipper’s recommendation. They know what works and the last thing they need is for you to tell them you don’t like it. I’m not saying the original material is necessarily best. You may well prefer the cart with a different cantilever, but I would still give the retipper’s opinion a high degree of deference. 

Always best to have a experience of a few rebuilds when working through things.
