Purging, instead of endlessly storing

Even my wife has mostly left her beloved country music.  Sure there is some great stuff, but it's not mainstream play.  The sameness is deafening.  The power of marketing now insane tightly controlling exposure to content.  The CMT awards the worst.

My personal Hell was growing up in Wyoming with KMER.  Only station available. AM, cryin' in your beer country only, dawn to dusk only.  Off enough the sshhh, ssshh, sashh of the needle on the inside groove for 10 minutes because the DJ forgot, out for a smoke or a p#&e.

Upside was my music teacher played Vegas for some years when the varied big  acts ruled the strip.  He played The Dunes, The Sands, Cesar's Palace.

I particularly enjoying giving gear to my friends adult kids...

I agree @gkelly  it seems very tightly controlled and engineered, the boots, the looks, the accent, the topics. I still enjoy folk, Americana, anything "indie".

@celtic66 the only saving grace about growing up in Wyoming was The band teacher. Mr. Schwab‘s playing of Chicago and making us perfect The Animals, House of the Rising Sun. Definitely played a part in my journey. Let’s not even discuss radio stations.
