Music Hall Stealth Owners - What Cartridge Are You Using?
A few weeks back I purchased a Music Hall Stealth turntable and have been enjoying it as it and the Ortfon 2M Blue break-in. That said, I will have interest in trying a better cartridge at some point and have an interest in learning from Stealth owners what cartridges they moved on to and their firsthand comparative take vs the 2M Blue. Thanks in advance for any response.
@noromance Yes, I am aware that the 2M Black, or Bronze for that matter are options; and that their respective stylus can't simply be swapped in. And, I have read the reviews. Looking for owner experience, but thanks for the input. @musikcrayz Thank you for your input. I'll look into both. |
I discarded the Ortofon Blue MM almost immediately. I found it a bit too bright and forward for my listening setup. Try going HEAVY on this tonearm (be sure to add the additional weight they provided if you can find it). Noticeable Improvement/Same Money: Nagaoka MP-150 on stock headshell gave me the same liveliness as the Blue but with a bit more punch and grip. Vast Improvement/Big Money: Dynavector DV20X-low on stock headshell is silky smooth, detailed on a huge soundstage. Great for complex music. https://www.dynavector.com/products/cart/e_20x.html Killer Setup: I am blown away by the MoFi Master Tracker MM on My Sonic Lab SH-1Rh headshell. It seems like the Stealth tonearm responds really well to a hefty cart. I will stick with this for a while. It tracks and grinds on gnarly old vinyl and grooves and slams on fresh stuff. Really really good. |
@jngrausr - Thanks for your recommendations. I am presently using the 2M Bronze which I like, but interested in having some others to switch in so I'll look further into your suggestions. |
