@audphile1 Are you kidding? Of course I am not abandoning Burmester. I have it in my Mercedes and it is superb. I cleaned my LAN signal up with a couple of products from ifi and the “bad” recordings sound much better now. An example of a “bad” recording would be Kashmir by Led Zeppelin.
Old recordings sound poor on my Burmester 232
Burmester 232 is a fine machine. But for older recordings the sound is bright and poor compared to my Willsenton R8 which is excellent bang for buck and handles old recordings well Will adding a quality tube preamp to my 232 help? Is there any change I can make? My system is Burmester 232 + Focal Kanta 3s + LTA Aero DAC + Musical Fidelity MX streamer + Cardas clear reflection cables.

@dogearedaudio ”Bad” recording = Kashmir by Led Zep. Good recordings….most of the latest EDM and pop music. Anyway, my LAN tweaks have reduced the extra brightness. I am good to go for now. May upgrade my Kanta 3s later but that’s unlikely. |
Wow…. “We three (kings) men from Orient are” have have had a lot of feedback on “bad recordings” Only example quoted, by poor old Led Zep. We had hoped it was finally going to get more interesting, for us to delve into those feeble poor old recordings. He does however like replying up on his own discussion. Just an observation… I make it 20 times out of the total 55 posts. One way of keeping his limp discussion flying, but l fear it’s grounded, done for now, l think he just wanted to talk about his B232 |
