Component faceplates

Predominantly components these days have faceplates that are either silver or black. There are a few exceptions, and some hybrids  where the faceplates have strong black and silver features.

Does faceplate cosmetics influence your purchase decision and where you can get a component that offers either black or silver, what’s your choice?

As long as they have blue meters I'm happy.occasionly I have to get up and tap some of the analog because the get stuck so I provides exercise and prevents deep leg blood clots from sitting in the same place too long and that's why I spin vinyl and silver discs.for the physical health the music is mental health.

I prefer the understated black that does not draw attention to itself, perhaps because I love to listen to music in a darkened room.  My equipment rack, however, is a combination of Maple and Walnut by ButcherBlock Acoustics.

when you have silver you want black.... When you have black, you want....

Still, nothing beats champaign, vintage Marantz look.

Black is my preferred choice of faceplate with minimal lights for distraction. I do have a vintage McIntosh C34v with soft green backlight I enjoy. Seems to go well with glow of tubes MC275 in a darkened room. When looking to add new components it is a factor I consider.
