Hegel Viking sound

I just purchased a Hegel Viking CD player. I am breaking it in and at about 100 hours. It is vocal forward and the trebel is not bright but to close for my comfort. Looking for ideas to tame it.

Did you have another CD player before this one?  How did it sound?  If you had a previous CD player that you liked and this was the only change in your system 100 hours should be enough to know if you like a piece of equipment based on my listening experience.

I had a Arcam cd player and it worked well. However I moved into a new home and the last time we moved into a new home I had the walls behinf the speakers  and on the sides sheetrocked over the sheetrock and that fixed everything. Maybe if my wife doesn't kill me I could do that again..

we are a hegel dealer power cord upgrade and isolation

You have an excellent System. The Arcam 79 is/was a good player. The Hegel Mochican and Viking are quite a step up in presentation and sound. Give your player more time to break-in.

Happy Listening!

So it's not just a new CD player you're in an entirely new room? That brings up a lot of possibilities at play besides the CD player. Perhaps look at speaker positioning and/or some room treatments?
