Best speakers for GaN1? Or should I change amps???

With those speakers I wouldn’t expect much.  What specific improvements are you looking for, what sound characteristics are most important to you, what’s your budget, and are you looking for new or used?

Sorry, I should have said, I like a big bold, warm, rich sound.   Clarity, but not clinical.    I really struggle with a lot of HiFi, which to my ear is very forward & clinical.

Budget flexible for the right solution, but preferably under £10k.

Always happy to go used.

Harbeth SHL-5. Big sound. Amp friendly and definitely not forward. Stands are important, so not a place to economize.

During years of furious box swapping (which I want to be done with now), I’ve been down the Harbeth path with P3ESR & 40.1, the latter being one of few things I regret selling.   I went to audition some SHL5 a few years back & felt they were a bit dry & nothing like the 40.1s I’d sold.    
 

I’d say my biggest regret was selling ATC SCM100A, which I was using with a DAC direct.   I suspect if I’d had a Pre Amp adding some meat, they would still be here.

I’ve never owned Sonus Faber, yet the few times I’ve heard them, I liked them, so that’s maybe something I need to look into.

Sorry for the rambling  I think I know the GaN1 has to go, unless there’s a speaker that will give me what I want with that amp?   That’s the question.
