How long for an HDMI cable to break in.

I've been using an Audioquest Blueberry for a little while and just got the Vodka 48 8k/10k to compare. I'm not hearing initially much of a difference and certainly not $600 worth. Anybody else compare the two? Direction is correct. When I put the Vodka in I realized the Blueberry was in wrong!

My amplifier shorted out and several photons shot out

My Krell just let the smoke out ...

I’m terrified to jump into this lively discussion but I have a 1 meter hdmi going from my transport to my dac for I2S.  How would I know if the length of the cable was an issue?  Sound degradation?   It sounds great but I’ve seen a couple of times now that a 1 meter HDMI for i2s can cause issues but nobody says what this issues could be.

Yep, you are listening for sound degradation.  Easiest way to find out what this sounds like is to switch in longer HDMI cables until the degradation is obvious.

When HDMI cables are used as intended for HDMI, it is easy to see the effects of overlong or poor quality cables on video.  Blockiness on the screen, dropped frames, noise.  HDMI is designed for an error rate of about 1 in a billion bits which I think translates to about 70 CDs per error!
