Anyone else prefer listening to their system more than a concert?

Ahh yes... there is another reason not to go. Catch a respiratory illness from someone that is inconsiderate and comes to a concert in ill health... either because of the noise, possibility of infection... or the appearance of communicability. 

Yes definitely, so much more control. Especially with an outdoor venue with a marginal sound system!

coincidentally, I attended an Andrea Bocelli concert last night. Although the venue was large I had good seats and the acoustics were pretty good. he performed with our local Philharmonic which was an added bonus.The experience of seeing this supremely talented man perform live exceeded listening at home. In the last few months I’ve seen Rosanne Cash and Chris Isaak perform in small venues with great acoustics and the ticket was well worth the price.
 

for the most part, however, I would rather be listening to my system. Certainly, I’m done with the big rock concerts in big venues. Rude crowds, terrible sound and deafening volume. No longer for me.

the sound is almost always better listening to my system but I enjoy the experience of a live show four or five times a year, usually in a small venue. Aside from superior sound quality, a big advantage of listening at home is that no one wakes me up when I fall asleep
