Share some under appreciated jazz album titles

I’ve been on a journey to discover more older jazz albums deeper down the catalog that share two traits; I like/love the music and the recording shines, quite possibly unexpectedly. By that I mean, I probably have a bias that leads me expect recordings from the fifties and sixties to be less detailed or “audiophile” than more recent recordings. I’m finding this bias to be truly misguided to say the least.
Please share some of your favorite lesser known jazz gems with both traits. To roll the ball…  Dave Brubeck “In Time”, Johnny Hodges “Not So Dukish” and “Gerry Mulligan Meets Johnny Hodges”

Yes, I’ve been on a Johnny Hodges kick lately

happy listening everyone

@mahgister

I enjoy a lot Lew Tabackin ( i dont like flute a lot but Lew is a master not only on sax but on flute too and i love him ) and Toshiko Akioshi his wife band...

Yes; I feel the same way about flute. I never cared for it in a Jazz context until I heard Tabackin.

Everyone who read a book and speak about it appear pretentious to some...

If someone  dare to explain why some jazz musician for him appear as  genius he will appear pretentious...( but pretentious for who ?)

I dont care...

Lew Tabackin learned flute from Japan Flute Zen  masters  whose reputation is worldwide...

I immediately  heard it  the way he played, and loved him ...

i dont like much jazz or classical flute generally  but i love Persian,Turkisch, and Japan  and Indian  flute masters ...

Am i pretentious?

yes i guess so for some ...
