Anyone else prefer listening to their system more than a concert?

I know I do. It seems like most people on this forum don't feel that way. That's OK. To each his own.

For me, I like being able to control the volume. I like choosing what song I want to hear. I like not being in a crowd. I like hearing the music without any distracting sounds from others. I like the privacy. I like the convenience. I think my system sounds wonderful. I'm a happy camper.

Just my opinion. Not trying to change anyone else's mind.

Enjoy the music! Whichever way pleases you.

Steady diet of both…

block n a half  walk to the Cajun bar for a cover band and the proprietor sometimes ably covers a classic..

light rail to Benaroya hall

hosting the church electric worship band at home…

3 blocks to art gallery pop up w great solo jazz guitarist ( open bar to grease the skids of commerce )

short drive to Tacoma Armory to see Shannon Curtis 80’s kids show …

something soon at The Belly Up - Solana beach…

Depends.  Assuming optimal seats, a great venue, and un-amplified music like jazz/blues or classical I’ll take live to be able to watch incredible musicians play great music.  But, amplified music/large venues I prefer listening to my system.  Some examples — I love listening to Patricia Barber’s Nightclub on my system because it’s very much like experiencing a live performance, but I’ve seen her live at the Greenmill in Chicago and that’s just a next-level experience period.  On the flip side there’s “November Rain” by Guns n Roses that I prefer hearing on my system as opposed to the insanely loud, multiple speaker amplified wall of sound experience of a live concert.  So it depends.

I tried concerts when young... 50 years ago...

I tried vinyls too ... smiley

I sticked with my Bach  and other thick  good classical  pressings till cd and i  stop buying defective vinyl  ....Then bad cd appeared but this time i had no other choice, my vinyl were used a lot, my turntable dead ...I succeed to create good sound only when retired i had time to understand acoustics and basic gear synergy ...

I renounced concerts soon because i am allergic to crowd....(more than 2 people is crowd, except  for family which is OK )...

I like people a lot, one on one though....

I change street if they are crowdy......

i like almost all  men individually a lot , humanity as a crowd i hate it....

My actual system is so good you must pay me to go to concert, save if it is a Marian Anderson concert, or  Bach concert with my loved interpreters ( mostly all dead).
