these JBL’s have L-Pads to adjust them in the space. Ask seller about the center channel,

you buy an inexpensive SPL meter (with a tripod hole on the bottom) from Amazon

you get a CD with test tones

9-38 No Artist ISO 1/3rd Octave Center Channel Frequencies (Pink Noise - L & R Channels Driven) 30:00

I use this one, I could help you find an inexpensive copy

you put the meter on a tripod at seated ear level position, play individual tones, adjust, .... after you measure for 'equal', 'accurate', then you adjust for your preferences last, always best to have a friend with young ears help you then.

If you’re interested in bypassing the speaker merry-go-round that is inexperience, save a few more scheckles and get a pair of used Avalon Acoustics Eidolons. I wish I’d acquired mine long before my ride on the round ended fifteen years ago. https://www.usaudiomart.com/details/650227253-avalon-eidolon-rare-satin-black-matched-grain/

Don’t take my word for it. Consider people like Rick Rubin and Chad Kassem who still own theirs.

I run mine full range in a reflective wood floored room with small first reflection wall reflective treatments.

Mine are powered by worst tube amplifiers ever measured by Audio Science Review, Bob Carver’s Cherry 180’s Tube Amplifiers with KT120’s using a Cardas Golden Reference loom.

They’re accompanied by two Velodyne Digital Drive 12" Plus subwoofers. Asymmetrically positioned within the rooms standing bass wave locations by using the subwoofer crawl as directed by the manufacture followed by Velodyne’s Auto EQ and minor manual adjustments to taste.

All the best with your search.

So today i went and listened to kef r-5 paradigm F80s

and the golden ear T66

The T66 is absolutely amazing and between the kef and paradigm i liked the kef however the paradigm was good when they turned on the rel 9/x

I’m near you in Poway and have a Marantz HT receiver. I went with in wall speakers and have a separate system in the same room for music. The in wall speakers sound  pretty good for music with a huge soundstage and good detail and separation. My system photos are posted here on Audiogon. If your goal is to integrate music with a home theater, I would consider a visit to Dynamic Sound System in Carlsbad. They seem to have more HT expertise than the other local dealers, and they also sell well regarded 2 channel gear. They carry a nice line of products. I bet they would give you a demo and solid advice. I demoed speakers there several years ago and had a good experience.
