Thank you for mercifully deleting some of the more recalcitrant melts.  Mostly, we come in peace, in search of enlightenment, exposure to a bit of wit, not an inquisition.  Cheers

Maybe one day we can lock forum threads instead of complete removal?

The past two years I’ve begun to take screenshots of posts that provided excellent information, but you can tell the thread is beginning to go sideways and potentially head towards removal. It’s a shame because exceptional posts from members that have provided their time, effort, and insight are forever lost and become a victim of collateral impact.

When posting on audiogon forums I find bad behavior and disrespect have little to do with politics. It’s about the individuals who post. Of course this is strictly an audio forum but I have seen a fair amount of people post displeasure when the amp they bought for $14k suddenly became $16.5k because of tariffs and associated costs (warranted or not). That’s the economic side of this hobby and I find most people get fired up about their wallet and perceived theft. How much political policy is affected pricing is a concern for most audiophiles and I suspect it will come out. Nevertheless it can be responsible and reasonable and respectful. It’s a problem with individuals who are not.

Whether any of these threads drops off a cliff or not rests solely in the personalities posting.

1:There are dedicated websites for EVERY subject under the sun..This site is dedicated to the reproduction of audio & it's associated gear..If you want to whine & cry about that amp you bought from overseas coming with a tariff take it to a site dedicated to crying about politics..
2:There is absolutely NO reason to thank the mods for doing their job regarding delition of inappropriate threads or comments publicly except to stir up trouble! If you want to thank the mods for doing their jobs, stop grandstanding & do it in a PM!

Only two kinds of people in the world when it comes to this dynamic.

1.  Those who stay and complain endlessly, fruitlessly trying to 'right' the ship.

2.  Those who tune out, do not read further, move on because they have better to do.  It rolls off them.  Change the channel, do not engage, do not become upset.

That reminds me, I need re-arrange my sock drawer.
