Reminds me of Cryotone Tubes. Take a $40 Psvane or JJ tube, treat it, repackage it and sell it for $200+. Does it give you results? Only way to know is to try it on your own system. Appreciate OP’s sharing their discoveries/insights. Take it or leave it…All are beneficial. Happy Thanksgiving!
The $250 power cables and $600 power strip that dethroned my $10k Shunyata Everest
Hello fellow audiophiles. I've been using products from QSA Lanedri who I believe offer the best price to performance ratio on the market today for their power and signal cables. You may have heard of Quantum Science Audio fuses and might even have some installed in your system. QSA Lanedri have perfected this technology/treatment and are now offering it in their power and signal products. The line of products in particular is called Veridion Discovery which is their most affordable line. I currently own 2 Veridion Discovery power strips (daisy chained), 8 power cables, 3 ethernet cables, 1 DC cable. Initially I was sent a power and ethernet cable to try and was so impressed I ordered more including the power strips. I have been comparing their power cables to much more expensive cables from Audioquest and Furutech. I've also been comparing their power strip to my Shunyata Everest power conditioner and found I prefer the Discovery power strip. Infact I'm in the process of trading in my Shunyata Everest and corresponding Sigma X power cable for either a better integrated amplifier or speakers. Once you pair up Discovery power cables with the Discovery power strip things improve dramatically. Not only does audio improve but picture quality and home cinema improves also and will challenge anything at any price. I will say the Discovery line requires a few days of continuous use or "burn in" period before proper evaluation. I compared their Ethernet cables to the likes of Audioquest Diamond and Wireworld Platinum Starlight 8 and again preferred the Discovery line. Through the Discovery products music sounds cleaner and clearer with a heightened sense of realism. This also applies to film and TV. Compared to the Shunyata Everest picture quality is now cleaner with more vibrant colours. Motion and panning shots are improved with less stutter. I will add that I have the power strips on Auva EQ CSA1 isolation footers. All of my equipment is sitting on Auva EQ footers which I found were better than the Isoacoustic Oreo footers I had previously. The Discovery products look very basic and don't scream high end but from my experience they can go toe to toe with the best at very affordable prices! They offer a 30 day money back guarantee for peace of mind. Definitely worth a look. Cheers.

I have been using the Swiss Digital Fuse Box for 3 years now on all of my components and No boutique fuse comes close; the SR purple was my less favorite of the SR fuses, found the mids to be over exaggerated and weak bass but we all have different components, hear things differently and prefer a different sound signature. Funny, it seems if something doesn't cost an arm and leg, it's a cheap, piece of what-ever, too good to be true. On the other hand, if it cost a bank account or house note it's just a piece of wire with some shielding and a rip-off. I say whatever works and what you're willing to fork out is where it ends, we're not here to please everyone's tastes or budget. |
Welcome to Audiogon, if you didn’t get any skepticism(s), negativity or snobbish remarks about you rig setup, then you haven’t ’Gon’ through the the crucible here that we’ve all had to go through. It’s all part of the learning process and if you notice you can actually glean a heck of lot of positives of what we call ’upgrades’ to your rig and some will cost and some will remarkably be free. You just gotta be open and receptive. I have to give you kudos for that very small space you have in getting the most out of it for what you have when that size of a space in some cribs is used for a sub alone. I couldn’t figure out why your sub was in front of your rig until I zoomed in and saw the inside door swing right next to your rig. You had the foresight to add sound panels, took an inexpensive piece of throw away foam and lifted the sub off the floor. Speaking of subs, the Discovery Veridion AC Power Cable for the price just may be the perfect upgrade for subwoofers stock power cord that surprisingly never gets upgraded. And with that center channel speaker, I see your ’home theater’ vibe that a whole lot of us had when we first came here to Audiogon and graduated to a so called hi fidelity audiophile. But I must warn you about becoming a ’hi fidelity audiophile’ as it comes at and with a VERY high price tag. I have NOS tubes that alone the total costs add up to thousands of dollars. So beware. The power cord du jour of what I’ve seen lately is the Furutech DPS-4.1 Power Cord with FI-50 NCF Plugs that cost about at what I can reckon is about $1162 per. So if I can find something that may work? And have a price/performance ratio at $250? I’m at least gonna take a look at it. @wig and @grannyring, appreciate you two introducing me to the Swiss Digital Fuse Box. I myself, this Thanksgiving day cleaning out old stuff found my old quantum science audio blue fuses. I remember @willgolf and others here, introducing me to the Duelund speaker and interconnect wire with KLEI connectors which if your DIY skills weren’t up to par would cost around $250 with Chris at parts connexion building them for you. So if @willgolf, with his half a million dollar Aries Cerat system says check out the Discovery Veridion AC Power Cable, I’m going to listen to him. The reviews of the Discovery Veridion AC Power Cable are very few but I did find a couple here: |
@tyray the only way to know if DPS 4.1 with FI-50 NCF is to your liking is to try it. I’ve had several Furutech cables in my system including DPS 4.1 with FI-50 NCF plugs. Furutech discloses their design and manufacturing processes including materials used as well as their treatment on bare wires and connectors. I find it amusing that people think spending $300 on a fuse is any more logical than spending $3,000 on a power cord. If $300 is all you got for an upgrade and you think a $300 fuse will knock your socks off in a $1000 amplifier, go for it. One other aspect of cable upgrades is cumulative effect. It’s almost never positive when you keep compounding the effect by adding more of the same sound signature. The art is, in my experience, is to mix and match cables from different manufacturers/model lines. With that said, I’m very happy with the sound of my system and won’t be trying any of the QSA offerings. I also continue to stand my ground on my assessment of QSA. No disrespect to any credible members of Audiogon. That’s just my take on it. If they explain their process with veridion treatment I’ll take another look at it. |
