@ibibble ”…much to my better parts dismay…” Still on subject….just. ”Better parts” more often than not (so you are in good company) just don’t get the hi-fi thing. A mental blockage. However, do a count up of how many pairs of shoes, coats and handbags you can find. In all probability more accessories than can possibly be worn out in a lifetime. No difference to a lifetimes worth of collecting. CDs, like clothes can fall out of fashion and a good excuse to buy new ones, like shoes, coats and handbags. Tell it what it is next time you feel pushback with your hobby. I would not ever suggest you saying that music is your first love, even if it’s true.
Keep the CDs and LPs spinning, it just makes sense. Music doesn’t change but people do. At least you can rely on the music to not dump you.
@jimmyblues1959 “SYSTEMDEK IIX” Right there with you on that one. One of the finest record decks of the 80s. All that has ever been required is a regular oil change and new belt. It was that good from the start, no upgrades required! |
I Still use CD's. SACD and Blu Ray as well. The Blu ray especially as they can be high sampling (audio only or outstanding video concerts). Still using the OPPO 205 I was fortunate to get. I have a Kenwood Elite CD player in two of my Trucks and I can watch DVD video concerts (listen!) while in my vehicles with killer audio. |
