YES!
Personality
I now find myself streaming most of the time. Although the SQ is really good, I realize there’s something missing. When I pull out a record or CD, each one seems to have a uniqueness or personality of its own which reflects when I first bought it or played it. Also each one seems to have a sound signature which I associate with it, making it more personal. I don’t get that with streaming
Does anyone else feel this way?

Having just extolled streaming, yesterday I received 2DACD sets that I ordered from Japan, of analog 1970s recordings. One is Claudio Abbado and the Chicago Symphony Orchestra in Mahler Second Symphony; the other is a 4 disc set, Kurt Sanderling and the Berlin Symphony (DDR) in Sibelius. Both sets show immense improvement over the Qobuz streams. Physical Media, well done, is still the Gold Standard |
@rvpiano ”YES!” And my “….and a big shame those memories will never happen if you stream” Has made me recall the famous memorable “time to die” death scene, and the words spoken by the replicant in “Bladerunner” in the streaming rain. ”All those moments (memories) will be lost forever like tears, in rain” |
