Granite Slabs

I've seen a few systems here that used granite slabs under speakers. Where would one find these cut slabs to size and how thick would the granite need to be to support 225lb speaker? Looking for 2 pieces cut about 20x17x1-2", any help would be great.

TIA

@ghdprentice Do you have any experience with or thoughts regarding IsoAcoustic GAIA feet for speakers?  Thanks.

OP, I would go to a countertop fabricator.  They will have remnants from other jobs.  Every sink cut out will create a similarly sized piece.  To get 2", you may have to glue two pieces together.   The cost should be low.  Personally, I don't understand the benefit though or why there is an improvement over your existing support surface.

Townshend Podiums

@12many

I do not have any direct experience with IsoAcoustic GAIA feet for speakers but have read a number of accounts of them. They are a tweak and will improve the same parameters the Townshend podiums, more focused bass, better image focus and improved midrange. But the podium are a much bigger improvement... more like a complete sonic upgrade versus a tweak.
