@skeptikal . Sorry I wasn’t more clear. Yes I spent that amount for my kitchen counter tops. If you go to a stone store , or a granite fabricator you can get remnants for pennies on the dollar.
Granite Slabs
I've seen a few systems here that used granite slabs under speakers. Where would one find these cut slabs to size and how thick would the granite need to be to support 225lb speaker? Looking for 2 pieces cut about 20x17x1-2", any help would be great.

As stated above if you are on a suspended floor you need something to mitigate vibration. Your speakers are heavy so if you are on a carpeted concrete slab like me the effects will be minimal. My speakers weigh 220 pounds. I don’t think any difference in sound with the podiums is from the small amount of vibrations in the concrete floor. |

OP, I would go to a countertop fabricator. They will have remnants from other jobs. Every sink cut out will create a similarly sized piece. To get 2", you may have to glue two pieces together. The cost should be low. Personally, I don't understand the benefit though or why there is an improvement over your existing support surface. |
