Granite Slabs

I've seen a few systems here that used granite slabs under speakers. Where would one find these cut slabs to size and how thick would the granite need to be to support 225lb speaker? Looking for 2 pieces cut about 20x17x1-2", any help would be great.

TIA

@thecarpathian I was having a little fun with photoshop there.  That's my face on a Talosian from the pilot episode of Star Trek. Real hat size is 7 3/8.

@buellrider97 You spent $13K on Quartzite?  My travertine tiles were < $20 and were the perfect size, requiring no cutting.  I would not say they made much difference, my Arendals are 111 pounds and with SVS SoundPath feet there's not going to be much vibration transfer.  I did see a small improvement on the subwoofer however, using a 18x36 slate tile.

So what is best to do if you have carpet on the 2nd floor of a wood framed house? I have the spikes in the carpet without the little disks that go under the spikes.

I’d been considering A-pods but haven’t done anything yet.

@skeptikal . Sorry I wasn’t more clear. Yes I spent that amount for my kitchen counter tops. If you go to a stone store , or a granite fabricator you can get remnants for pennies on the dollar.

I bought mine from a tombstone maker they have larger sizes (thinkness) then counter top makers. Note polishing is something to consider as it increases price the more glossy the finish. If your happy with a mate finish its much cheeper.
