I'm using an Audio Research SP9 MKIII I bought new many years ago. I have Snell Model B (not b minor), KEF Q150, and just got a pair of Vandersteen 2CE that likely need some work. I just made a deal to purchase an Odyssey Khartago +++. I muddled through analysis paralysis and came to the decision that I would prefer a Class A/AB vs D. Wish me luck.
What would you choose? Schiit Vider 2F, PS Audio S300, or wildcard?
I am in the market for a new amplifier. I have a limited budget of $1500. I would love US build. The Schiit Vider 2F (class A/B) is $900 and the PS Audio S300 (Class D) is $1400. What would you want to bring home. I would love to listen to each side by side but I don’t have any way to do that. What else is there to consider? Thanks!

@jl35 , @desperado915 , Yes, Odyssey Khartago can be ordered with an xlr input, but it’s simply bridged and not a true balanced input so it’s no different than an rca input. I don't believe any Odyssey amps have any balanced architecture. |
I also believe the Odyssey are not truly balanced. But the XLR option is important to me, as my best spare cables are XLR. The Vidar is RCA only as stereo amp and XLR only as mono block. The PS may be truly balanced. All great amps for the price. And XLR for some is a worthwhile convenience feature. |
