Recommended a highly resolving cartridge

AT carts are enticing. The stylus life is around 1k hours. Was always a deal breaker for me.

@slaw Part of my motivation for the getting the 1000x was so I can rotate it with the ART20 and not rack up too many hours on one cart. 

Stylus life claims seem to be all over the place.

A YMMV thing-  depends on clean records and stylus care?

I’ve put easily over 2K on an ART9 without noticeable SQ degradation. Those same records played on a fresh, similar but different profile stylus(Lyra Delos-Namiki microridge line-contact nude) are dead quiet.

London Decca- not sure it would be a good fit on your arm. Others here will probably know. EXCELLENT resolution, clarity of individual instruments- at least for me.

Adding the 1000X is an interesting way forward.

I'm sure they are voiced differently, but it will be interesting to learn where they show other differences and how these are creating an impression.

My experiences have led me to assess if all the valuable traits that are detectable in the End Sound remain when differences are detected.

If valuable traits are maintained, the design can be described as an alternate seasoning added to the replay, and may immediately show through as the preferred option. I have become quite settled and accepting of the creating different End Sounds. I find being monogamous and working with only one End Sound is not as stimulating as being inquisitive and polygamous towards a variation for the End Sounds being produced.     

If valuable traits are not detected as being created / maintained, even though able to be enjoyed as a reply. The fair assessment by myself is that something is amiss and is the less attractive option. I have long term owned Cart's that sit idle for this reason.
