Seems to be the way, over the top highly polished class A furniture with a couple of speakers tossed in or weird looking nautical type and or curved mountainous designs. You most certainly don’t have to pay the price or put up with such to enjoy good quality music reproduction. Enjoy the hobby hunt and eventually the music.

Placement is critical for all speakers. Although some can be placed closer than others. If you cannot give them enough room to breathe, then you may need to choose speakers that can be placed close too the wall. 

Given this is a really important consideration... how far out into the room and from the side walls can you place them?

The higher up the line you can go, the better they sound, but SF “Updates” their speakers fairly often, so you can pick up Open Box or used at some amazing prices.

They have to be against the wall if they’re facing the short side of the house.  I can pull them about 3 feet away if they’re facing the long side but then they’ll have to be 9 or 10 feet apart from each other so maybe that works, have to rearrange the space.  
does anyone recommend an amp to get the most out of them?  The Moon 371 is $6,500, not sure if that’s more than necessary.  Thanks for all the advice, I greatly appreciate it.
