Sonus Faber Maxima Amator without the fancy

Really Bache?  I’d love for that to be true and save like 15k but that sounds suspicious based on the price difference.  

I'm not sure what the rest of your system is or will be but for that amount of money you can get a lot of speaker. Sonus faber to me always sounds very natural with good detail. If that's what you like, you should check out vandersteen. It's gonna sound crazy, but for a little over 4k, a pair of Vandersteen 2CE signature III will blow a lot of things away. They'd work in your room. They're very shallow speakers so you can get the front 3 feet from the wall without a lot of issue and then have a bunch of extra money left over for other components. If you're dead set on spending more check out the Treo CTs. They're a more boutique brand but forme, hard to beat, particularly for the money. 

ProAc D48 and K1 should be on your list for consideration.

Seems to be the way, over the top highly polished class A furniture with a couple of speakers tossed in or weird looking nautical type and or curved mountainous designs. You most certainly don’t have to pay the price or put up with such to enjoy good quality music reproduction. Enjoy the hobby hunt and eventually the music.
