Question for the owners of Cary CAD 300-SE Signature MonoBlocks

Good day all,

Do you know if these amps require output power tube bias? If so, then where is the bias trim pot?

I just acquired a pair from a seller who sold the amps for his friend who is out of the country, therefore he had no knowledge of the amps and nowhere in the manual mentioned output tube bias. I tried to bias the amps based on my reading and Cary Support, but I am unable to locate the bias trim pot. In the back of each amp, I could clearly see the 1/4" jack for the bias meter to plug in, then just to the right there is a small round plastic cap which I strongly believe this is where the bias trim pot should be, if existed. I tried to pry it open w/ my finger nail to know what behind but it sat so tightly like the intention was not meant to be removed, if there is something behind then it wouldn't be like that. Do you think the edition of the amps I got is auto-bias?

As always, thank you for your attention.

In the manual, it reads that the bias is automatically set and is non-user adjustable.  The 1/4" jack is probably there just to test/ monitor the bias of the tube.

Thanks for the prompt reply, paradisecom

I read through 4 diff versions of pdf manual but don't remember seeing mentioned bias. Good to know indeed.
