This hobby is for hedonists, not scientists

That's it.  That's my whole statement.

<< tongue in cheek>>

Of course, everyone who disagrees with me is just wrong.

@larsman The West Coast versus the NY ones…… two kinds of cooks and tastes.

Yeah l started the 4 wheel bagel multipack slant on this thread. I thought the whole, hole in the bagel thing lightened up the humourist (US humorist) scientist versus the hedonist scenario, that had no real taste to it. Same argument can apply to all the sad supermarket bagels sold in the UK.

Because my actual religious vocation is "maker of analogies" i have one more.

We should be more cooks than bakers.

@erik_squires “We should be more cooks than bakers”

You do realise you have just burnt the cakes and upst all the bakers out there.

“Is it possible that the reason current measurements do not reliably predict sound quality is that the state of scientific knowledge of the complex psychoacoustic, environmental factors, and psychological mechanisms of subjective musical perception/enjoyment are not fully understood, and an algorithm”?

Exactly the right question about this debate of science vs. perception.

One must mount the hedonic treadmill in all it’s forms to banish the mass gain of a bagel
