Sonus Faber Maxima Amator without the fancy

Aesthetics?  Love the sound but want to see if there’s something just like it without the fancy leather, marble stand and walnut casings.  I’m really new to this and shopping for speakers for my 11x22 space at home.  Tried these out in a store and they’re amazing but don’t care about t he fancy design.  Would love some advice!  Want to make it sound like the band is basically in my room, would love some pointers

The Sonus Faber Olympica Nova series and Maxima Amator Heritage series have some similarities but are different enough to eliminate comparison/substitution. About 3-4 years ago I had an hour long discussion and short demonstration with Will Kline(Former spokesman). The Nova 3 and Maxima Amator were both at $15k retail at the time. Will claimed the Nova series was also designed to meet Home Theater needs which might explain the Bass refinement issues. We both agreed the Amator was clearly the superior(2 channel) speaker in build and sound quality.

I am a Dead fan as well, though it no longer makes up the bulk of my listening, my system has to play them well! I am also a low volume listener these days. I currently have QLN 3's, which I really like, but I am always looking for more. I recently demo'ed a number of speakers, including the SF Olympica Nova II, but the standout was the Vandersteen Treo. I have a number of demo tracks, but the last one is always the Dead, just to see if the system grooves. Eyes off the GD Movie Soundtrack (1974) definitely did. Note, that they are ported, but down firing so they would work better than rear ports close to the wall. Worth a listen.

are you open to any speakers? The best you can get for your money?

SF is on the pricey side but still decent value, and OK resale value.

I am open to any speakers that sound incredible for my space, I appreciate the feedback.  I imagine I can’t pull them too far off the wall given that I’ll be sitting 7-8 ft away from the speakers.
