Selling on ebay vs Audigon

I am seeking a more rewarding experience. I have been selling on ebay for 27 years. I tell it EXACTLY like it is and try to offer 100% complete transparency. Even so, I have been cheated and deceived by buyers and ebay. Has any member had experience selling on both venues? It would be great to see a comparison chart.   After 27 years with ebay I am truly sick of the experience due to dishonest buyers that delight in cheating sellers. If anyone would like to have a phone conversation I am up for that.

I have bought and sold for years on eBay. The difficulties with buying can be that many sellers are selling from 3rd party sites, and never actually come into physical contact with the items. This poses an issue if the quality is not up to par, or is misrepresented by the seller in the descriptions.

To counter this when I am selling. I put actual photos of the items with full descriptions, and beyond. You can tell that from the type of pics that you are looking at the actual item. Very important. I occasionally use a stock pic, followed up with actual pics. Never had an issue. 100% feedback.

I feel due to this kind of history as a seller, eBay really takes care of me as a buyer. Gives me great support, and rarely ever questions a complaint.

I recently won a case where UPS charged me for an oversized package due to its dimensions exceeding 130 inches in total. I questioned UPS store employees, and after a long conversation, they admitted that UPS adds 5 inches to all parcel dimensions, then calculates from there. EBay was was informed of this 'cheating' and will note it in any other disputes.

Be aware, is all I can say.

I sold my system on Audiogon faster than ebay. And I got what I wanted without much haggling. 😁

eBay has too many flaky buyers for vinyl record sales. They are often too picky or downright cheaters. They try and scam a partial refund after the item arrives. This cost you shipping, plus return shipping and many people just give a partial refund.

I sell only on Discogs now and it has been a pleasant experience with no issues thus far.

I still sell other items on eBay, but I make sure to disclose even the slightest of issues and eBay always backs me if a buyer starts crying about something that was clearly listed in the description.

I used to use E-Bay for about 15 years buying and selling high end audio

until E-Bay started settling disputes to the buyers side my experience 4 time's on my account... I took great pic's stated a full description of what i may have been selling. After working in the professional sound industry for over 30 years I went through my house and could not believe the amount of gear I had acquired.

So I used a site called Reverb was able to sell all my gear at a fair price with no issues

from the buyers and was paid promptly.
