Forget cables as snakeoil. There's a new snake King in town.

There are a few owners of relatively well-known companies that have such ridiculous amplifiers beliefs, that it boggles the mind. These people are owners of different companies. Not a complete nobody.

Think all cables sound the same? Well I'm here to inform you all amplifiers sound the same too (according to these company owners).

Ryan Charpentier (owner of Ascend audio) thinks an AVR is as good as any other amplifiers and to even spend more money on any dedicated amplifier would be a waste of money. In his words, the noise floor is too low for most systems to distinguish between AVR and another amp.

Dylan (owner of Buckeye) thinks all amplifiers sound the same when "properly designed. To add more context, he thinks his Hypex class D is perfection. Perfect in the sense that it is "100% true to the source material" and cannot be improved any further. Even 500 years from now.

We have gone from all cables sound the same -> all amplifiers sound the same.

I have nothing else to say because I'm simply speechless.

@llg98ljk   IMO your confusing "snake oil" with component potential, The hype people...when dealers/sellers and reviewers over exaggerate the potential or the performance ceiling of a component creates "snake oil". The Point Source 10 is a perfect recent example of this. It currently sells for less than when introduced and unfortunately many were convinced(sold)before even hearing it.

Ridiculous 40 year professional amplifiers absolutely sound different when played with good great I used to demonstrate arcam avrs vs denon in level matched demos at sound br singer 20 years ago

And in my own shop have tested ice hypex and ncore vs really got class ab amplifier level matched the class d amplifiers all sounded thin and hifi like not real  music.

Aa per Julien Hirsch he was full of it he never actually compared anything which led to the creation of stereophile and the absolute sound where listening tests trumped measurements tell you everything Julien Hirsch and both high fidelity and stereo review were afraid to compare anything to rate one component higher in fear of  allienating advertisers

These reviews were crap you purchase a particular component based on its sonic qualities and some amplifiers have better clarity or deeper bass response

We compared parasound jc mono’s vs eEectrocompaniet vs chord amplifiers and they al sounded different on Kef blades with good cabling and power conditioning withban esoteric x01 cd player all level matched same 20 second snippet
