Yes. Thank you for the correction.
Shangling Issues
I was really looking forward to the EC Zero T CD player. Unfortunately I had to send the first one back because of one of the channels would cut off. The dealer replaced it for me and now the replacement is defective. This time it’s a distortion issue.
This is my first product from Shangling and probably won’t bother with this brand anymore.
@roxy54 wondering where you have been, hoping all is well. Enjoy the music |
Thanks @tooblue . I'm well, and busy with a project for Christmas. That said, I've really been less interested in audiogon for the last 6 months or so. It's kind of strange and coincidental, but at the same time as my interest has wanted, several of my favorite audiogon buds have also opted out. I used to check in several times a day, but now I check in once every few days. It just seemed that the same things were being discussed over and over, and lately the vibe is just kind of flat to me. I guess I'm missing some old friends here. I've been here since 1998. |
@roxy54 I feel you man. Enjoy the holidays, and of course enjoy the music |
I'm sorry that you have this issue but I'm not surprised. Shanling has had a bad reputation for quality for several decades. I was foolish enough to purchase their SACD1.3 last year. It broke almost immediately; a wave soldering issue on the transport board. Shanling had no interest in helping me resolve the issue, instead spending time on forums trying to deflect responsibility (claimed the distributor was responsible and would not send me or the distributor the part necessary even though I'm an experienced bench tech and the repair would have been easy). I started exposing all this on various online forums and when the pressure and bad PR were finally enough for them, they provided the necessary part. Not long after that repair the remote control function failed. Not the remote itself but something internal. Regardless of any good review a Shanling product might receive, it is likely that at some point in the near future, there will be reliability issues. Beyond the normal return policy period, like you would get buying on Amazon, you'll have an expensive doorstop. |
