Reed 2G magnetic antiskate

for the life of me, my REED 2G antiskate seems to defy me.  Using the blank disc, no adjustment seems to keep the arm from skating inward....I have tried some other, audible tests of antiskate, and cant detect any change....any advice or thoughts?

It might be that the anti-skate mechanism is not working.

The magnet or magnetS have to be apposed to each other (magnets) or to something ferrous (magnet), in order to exert a force. Maybe your device is misaligned internally where you cannot see the problem, such that there is no force created. Or permanent magnets can lose their magnetic property over time or if subjected to physical trauma.
