i guess a more accurate question is - How would a LinLai E 6sn7 compare to a vintage tung sol/rca red base 5962 tube or sylvania / Ken Rad VT-231?

@honda the info relating to the more accurate question is certainly under discussion in the link. My take on things is a modern valve is made when the industry is far from its prime in relation to production. Skills once readily available are no longer at the work fronts. A Vintage Valve with a measured support, showing it is factory spec', is a Valve produced in the era, when skills and production knowledge was in abundance at the work front. If the product to be used is only about End Sound produced, then my concerns for Olden vs Modern production of Valves is irrelevant.

I’ve been running the Linlai E 6sn7’s for almost three years now. The Aric Audio Motherlode II I purchased used, came with KenRad VT 231 smoked glass tubes. These are wonderful, highly rated tubes. However,my ears preferred the Linlai’s. The Linlai’s have well over 2000 hours on them. To me,they still sound excellent. |
@rocray Thevreport on the reliability of the Linlai E is quite something. Is there a opportunity to get them tested to see how they have maintained factory Spec'? |
