Rolling Stones list of top 100 music artist , I ?Question its logic


Please take a look how can this be. ERIC CLAPTON RATED AT #55,  PINK FLOYD LOWER 50s , THE DOORS at #41  , is it me or is ROLLING STONE 🥜 NUTS ?

If I read it correctly, the list is from 2010. Wonder how much the list has changed?

 

It doesn't bother me in the slightest what somebody at Rolling Stone or anybody else for that matter thinks about their rankings.The reason they make these lists is so people become engaged with the publication and argue with it and other readers about its merits. Makes for great bar-room discussions. This is all purely subjective - there is no 'logic' involved. 

Yeah, obviously compiled by the twenty something blue haired trans woke crowd who have only ever listened to YT and MP3s 'nuff said.

I agree with @larsman that these lists are created to drive attention and engagement. Still, they're sorta interesting. If you seek a real challenge - try to create a ranked list of top artists or albums just for yourself. It's trickier than you might think.
